SCHOLARSHIP

Congratuations to Courtney Hopwood, the recipient(s) of the 2011 CHCA scholarship.

The Community Association sponsors a scholarship at College Heights Secondary School. There are 2 awards available to be won. Each award is worth $500.


DESCRIPTION

The successful applicant will be a contributing member in the College Heights community in a variety of aspects. Involvement in the College Heights Community Association and length of service as a volunteer will have strong bearing in the final selection. This award is provided so that the young adults of today will be encouraged to contribute to the community today, and in the years to come.


ELIGIBILITY

  • The successful applicant's behaviour should clearly demonstrate responsibility and compassion towards others. Leadership and volunteerism is of major importance.
  • The recipient should be living in the College Heights boundaries and should have attended College Heights Secondary School for a majority of his/her high school years. Where selection is difficult, previous attendance at Malaspina Elementary, College Heights Elementary, Southridge Elementary, or Vanway Elementary schools will be taken into consideration.
  • Students should have a good academic standing.
  • Students must show proof of registration in a recongnized post-secondary institution before scholarship money will be released.


  • SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • This award may be deferred up to 1 year.
  • The selection is to be made by the College Heights Community Association.
  • Students may be requested to participate in an interview with the selection committee.
